Why the basics really matter
The course for financial independence should be set early
Dear teachers and decision-makers at secondary and vocational schools, you are doing a great job! You know how important it is to prepare young people for life. Alongside maths and history, we should also give them the tools they need to handle money. Because financial education is the key to a successful future. I am aware that our school system covers financial skills in the curriculum only to a limited extent, and that you can’t take care of everything. Your time is limited.
In personal conversations, however, I keep hearing people regret that, when they were young, they were not prepared – or only poorly prepared – for “real life” and for taking responsibility for their own finances. Some even go so far as to demand that this absolutely must change for the next generation.
My offer to you: engaging talks or workshops. I present topics such as fixed costs, pensions, insurance and smart money management to young people in a lively, easy-to-understand way. My aim is a positive mindset that sparks enjoyment and curiosity about a subject that isn’t nearly as dry as it seems.

My topics at a glance
I am happy to offer your class the following topics as a complete programme or as individual modules, to match or complement the curriculum or projects. We can also tailor things to your needs.
Basic financial knowledge
Are your pupils about to finish Mittelschule, Realschule or Gymnasium? Perfect! Because now is the ideal time to build basic financial knowledge. Together with the pupils, I work through important topics: What is a budget? What lifestyle do I want, and how do I get there? And how do you avoid the classic debt traps? Don’t worry, I use simple language – no jargon!
Fixed costs and living expenses
Do your pupils know the difference between fixed costs and living costs? If not, you’re not alone! Looking at monthly income and expenditure, I explain clearly how they can keep track with simple tools and rules. Because financial freedom begins with simple basic knowledge and the right attitude. The most important thing is to pay yourself first – but of course, you have to know that first.

Wealth that works today for the future
Pupils and vocational students should realise early on that building wealth pays off from the start of their training. I talk in an easy-to-understand way about savings plans, investments and the power of compound interest – all without having to go without anything in life. Quite the opposite, in fact ;-). I want to show them how exciting it is that small amounts can grow into large sums over time. The goal is a healthy mindset towards building wealth and the right knowledge about good and bad debt, so that they can lead a good, relaxed life.
Clear goals are the key to success
I keep hearing that you have to work hard to reach your goals and be able to lead a good life. But what if I only have short-term goals? And what if these goals aren’t even my own, but have been taken on from others? Then reaching them will be anything but easy. That’s why I give plenty of room to the so-called “why”. If you don’t have a real reason of your own, it is really hard to keep going. But with clear goals...
A financial mindset: our gift to the next generation
Money isn’t everything, but it makes a lot of things easier. Young people should understand that financial success is not measured by pretty or flashy posts on social media. I work on a clear and healthy financial mindset and ask teenagers and young adults the following questions: How do you handle money? Which beliefs influence your decisions? Do you know the difference between wealth and financial security?
Together we clear up misconceptions and set new impulses for a healthy approach to money and spending.
A win for the younger generation
